our story 🧶
so glad to get to meet you 👋🏽
for decades, my mum - like most moms - found her identity to be only in reference to others: someone's wife, someone's daughter, someone's sister, our mother.
years passed by before she found her calling in this small venture; when she hand-painted an organza silk saree for her upcoming kitty party and got two random women enquiring about it when they found it getting fall-finished at a local boutique.

my mum loves building things. only she could bring to our home a personality: big oil paintings hung on the walls, pretty decor pieces that somehow melt together, tiny paper-mâché fridge magnets, plants all around, an arrangement of things that just makes sense. building & running a household is simply an artist's work, and we got to witness the art because of her.

you get to meet new parts of people when you build something together. we've been no different. working with momma has been quite a revelation. when we were only a few months into this venture, in a conversation, i was asked how we resolve differences in working style or ideas. my honest response was that working with my mother has instilled a kind of work & moral ethic in me that i'd have otherwise taken years to cultivate.
she never worked in any professional setup; yet, she reveres discipline. she's pragmatic, but she's more hopeful. she is better at being patient, deeply manifests growth, & cherishes values way better than i do. every day, i see her tackling issues and building for progress without losing her calm. even when she's made mistakes, she immediately gets to correcting them. i'm learning all this still.
it's truly her world, and i'm only playing a very small part in it. ✨
she loves her adrak chai twice a day, religiously plays ludo every night, will treat you to the most scrumptious meals & overstuff you, plants are her favourite gifts to receive, and routinely asks me not to make this brand all about her every time i send her screenshots of your love because i work for it, too. obviously, i don't listen.
